How current is the shop data?
It comes from the open map community: quite current in big cities, patchier in small towns. If you're travelling a distance, it's worth phoning ahead to confirm the shop is open.
There's a shop missing from the map. What can I do?
Open map data is editable by anyone. Whoever adds a missing shop to OpenStreetMap makes it visible to everyone who looks at that area afterwards.
Is my location stored?

Yes — the map runs on open, global data, but density varies by city. Big cities show dozens of pins; smaller towns with less mapping activity can look empty on the map, which usually reflects missing data rather than missing shops.
A shop on the map has closed down. What do I do?
Same open-data principle applies: mark the shop as closed — or delete it — on OpenStreetMap. Once the edit is approved, Thrift Map picks it up on the next data refresh.
